Invision Recruitment are partnered with an Award-Winning, leading construction company who currently turnover circa£300 Million annually, whilst securing £2 Billion worth of developments in the pipeline. My client are known for their efforts within Residential Developments, however, do also specialise across multiple sectors such as Commercial, Leisure & Retail.
They are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them on a flagship scheme that consists of an old prison being demolished, to then be replaced by a huge residential development consisting of apartment blocks that will house close to 1000 units.
Key Responsibilities (Not Limited To)
- Engage with customers, their representatives, and other third parties on commercial issues, including negotiating additional payments.
- Manage project costs and value, ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are in place.
- Conduct financial reporting for the project.
- Oversee change management for the project: record changes, allocate responsibility, and evaluate/recover any changes not at Sisk's risk/liability (including from third parties).
- Handle risk and opportunity management for the project: collaborate with the operations team to manage known and newly identified risks and opportunities for optimal project returns and implement mitigation measures.
- Supervise the commercial team to ensure they meet key responsibilities and enhance their knowledge.
- Provide support and training for site staff on commercial matters.
- Train and share knowledge consistently, mentoring as part of the Excelerate Programme.
- Oversee the preparation of Cost Plans for complex projects using various cost planning techniques and software, and manage data compilation for analyses.
- Analyze and manage the suite of project cost reports from raw data to inform key decisions.
- Prepare long-term cash forecasts for complex projects, monitor results, and interpret reasons for deviations, using established techniques to minimize cash outflow and maximize inflow.
- Possess detailed knowledge and experience of the project cost management system, providing detailed guidance to others.
- Develop innovative systems to control and monitor direct works cost and financial performance.
- Design and manage complex Project Cost Reporting systems, with the capacity to interrogate data and identify trends.
- Propose actions in response to changes in client and stakeholder needs and expectations.
- Professionally network within and beyond Sisk, leveraging contacts to support their role.
- Initiate and develop valuable business relationships over time.
- Ensure alignment of personal and team objectives/activities with Sisk and business unit plans.
- Review the effectiveness of change procedures and develop necessary improvements.
- Report design liability risks and draft step-down clauses into Sub-Contractor/Designer Agreements.
