Invision are a proud recruitment partner of a major Top 10 Construction Main Contractor who are seeking to recruit a Design Manager. They have many sectors to their business and cover Residential, Commercial, Leisure, Hospitality, Education to name a few. Despite being a large contractor, they have managed to hold an excellent reputation for their quality of build and retention of their workforce.
The Projects:
My client has two projects valued at £40 Million and £50 million in West London, they require an experienced Design manager with previous education experience who is well versed in the delivery of a project from cradle to grave. The project will see a Construction of two secondary school with classrooms, toilets, office, teachers’ lounge, kitchen, dining hall, MUGA courts, sports pitches and games court. With associated new vehicular and pedestrian accesses, landscaping and parking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design team through all phases of the project, including conceptualisation, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to integrate innovative design solutions that meet the needs of the client and its stakeholders.
- Manage the design schedule and budget, ensuring that milestones are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
- Conduct regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project objectives.
- Foster a collaborative and creative environment that encourages communication and idea exchange among team members.

Desirable Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years in the construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
- Previous experience working on educational projects is highly desirable.
